In the video My father's belongings I'm dealing with my mother's relation to her wedding ring and the relationship between mother and daughter and how it is expressed through that ring. The ring is the symbol of union of a couple, it represents two links in a chain, the chain of life. It symbolizes the cycle of life itself. The void in the center symbolizes the entrance into the unknown future. The ring must fit the finger perfectly, a loose fit means marriage where there is lack of interest and will lead to a breakup. On the other hand, a very tight fit will result to the suffocation of the couple and a heartbreaking marriage. It is said, that from the finger where the wedding ring fits, passes a vein that leads directly to the heart and is called vena amoris, vein of love.
