14827, 2010, two channel video, with sound, 3 min. 10 sec.
In the video "14827" (*) (2 video projections) I investigate the pair of Sleep and Death. In Antiquity, Sleep and Death were the twin children of Night and Erebus and were the ultimate arbiters of the path of life. Death takes away our ability to perceive our surroundings via our senses, something which also occurs during sleep. As we lose conscience, we find ourselves in another world that of dreams, from which we slide back every morning to a state of physical arousal, ready to continue with our lives.
* The star 14827 Hypnos (Sleep) took its name from the mythical God.
