Black Mountain, 2013, two channel video, 55 sec

Coal is considered to be the fuel of the 'poor' and is amongst other fuels responsible for the greenhouse effect. It produces a huge amount of carbon dioxide per year, but it is estimated that only half can be absorbed through natural processes, consequently it contributes to global warming and acid rain. Mainly developing countries, but also Europe, Russia and the United States produce a large amount of their electricity based on coal.

The video Black Mountain was shot in an open mine of coal in Greece and it is a metaphor of the environmental and social reality and prospects of this country and its' people.
