Art Athina 2014
Humor Me
Platform SKOUZE3 attempts to deal with concepts such as subversion, irony, detachment and sarcasm. The ambiguous vocabulary of body language and verbal language is the main axis of interest. With a series of performances and lecture performances artists and theorists will converse with the unclear boundaries of human communication which moves between truth and falsehood.

Nikos Mykoniatis
From Art Lascaux to Art Athina, lecture performance: 15'
A tour from the first art "market" up to its contemporary versions in Europe and elsewhere. How do these markets operate and how do they present art to the public?
Group Suppose: Vivian Emmanouilidou, Fani Bitou, Io Chaviara
No one believes me when I talk about this, but I'm really, really maternal, lecture performance: 25'
Expectation, Pride, Sacrifice, Responsibility, Punishment, Reward, Patience. Some of the words that refer to the Mother-Child relation. A narration that unravels through an experimental, exploratory, scientific, empirical and collective scope concerning this significant relationship.
Lito Kattou & Leontios Toumpouris
Scenarios for a performance, 2012-2014 / reading chapters #04 and #09", performance: 10'
In Scenarios for a performance each of the two artists react to the verbal (audio recorded) narration of a familiar memory of the other. The one tries to perceive and convey the experience of the other into written speech. The initially unfamiliar experience of the other is transformed into a familiar one through the personal written record of the incident.
Virginia Mastrogiannaki
Savoir vivre, a performance in three parts: 30'
An action in three parts evolves based on books-symbols respectively related to social, sexual and religious/spiritual rules of conduct. The book itself is the object on which every action is "depicted".
Doukas Kapantais
Modesty, the opium of the people, lecture performance: 30'
I grew up in the 80s. I was trained to think that antiheroes are the real deal. Together with my school teacher we burned my war games. My totem back then was the Dove of Peace. I did not help me much, but I'm still trying. Doukas Kapantais will try to convince me that it is too late.
Vrissiida Solomou, Fotini Papachristopoulou
BIO-TECHNI-A, performance: 15'
BIO-TECHNI-A deals with the recent conference of the Greek Minister of Culture in MEGARON, the Athens Music Hall, on art and entrepreneurship or otherwise the blatant undermining of art.
Kostantinos Argianas
From Vienna to Shanghai. Use and abuse of an image, lecture performance: 20'
The subject of this lecture is the use and abuse of a painting of the 19th century in the era of globalization. The portrait of the Empress Elizabeth of Austria, created in 1865, appears everywhere: as a hero comic, caricature for magazine cover, advertisement for the Austrian IKEA, stamp in World Fair Expo in Shanghai... What is actually going on with that image?

Giannis Skarimpas / Jean Tinguely: comparative reading, lecture performance: 15'
Disguises, mannequins, in between entities, solipsistic fears, short-circuits, components, the Automaton, the elusive Other, fragments, parts, metamechanical poetics, prosthetics, disassemblies, animations, spirits, manipulations of a mechanical membrane, the wax figure, the glass man, springs, simulative love and cybernetics, love crossways of species, darwinian yearning, rousseauian frustrations, nietzschean tremor.
Marianna Trontsiou
In time we trust, performance: 12'
The body is perceived as a primary medium by which we experience the world, it has its own measuring scales and through them it understands and converses with its surroundings. This performance is an attempt to coordinate with the social rhythms, by reprogramming and regulating the perception of time.
